Can someone recommend an equine podiatrist in the Essex area?! I have tried ringing/emailing Sarah Swallow but no answer :-( I need someone asap!! Thank you! X

It depends on who is the best for your horse in your area.

If your farrier is happy to support the horse BF and provide a sympathetic trim (which most do nowadays) then stick with your farrier.

If you don't think your farrier is comfortable with a working BF horse and is a little too aggressive with the trim, and you have a kick ass trimmer in your area - then use the trimmer.

Trimming the horse properly is a very minor part of the care - a smoothing round of the wall, looking at the bar length and overall balance are that is necessary routinely.

The rest and most important parts (diet, exercise) are up to you and the horse ;)

Sarah is really good - she does give herself a couple of days off a week and doesn't answer her phone on these days though so give it time and I'm sure she'll call... ;)
