Hi everyone,
Just a general musing really, I have a blog I go through being very dedicated to, then I abandon it.

I was really doing it for updates on the horses and competition results, however reporting how a weekly practice show went I imagine bores people quickly.

I throw quite a few ideas around in my head, product reviews, healthy debates etc.. I have many ideas but never seem to put them into force.

What kind of things would you like to read/see more of on line that is equestrian related? And where are all the other blogs at, I seem to struggle to find ones I can get my 'teeth' into. If you know of any or you have one please do let me know!

Thanks in advance!

Something easy to read and entertaining! I don't think it matters what your subject is, as long as it's honest, interesting and has a good tone of voice. Diary of a Wimpy Eventer on FB is a great example, and obv HTT on here!

Not sure how helpful that is though :P

I guess things like reviews are always helpful, 'tried and tested' style things. And from a commercial viewpoint, it opens you up as a site of interest to marketers/outreach professionals.

If you can get interviews with people, that would be great. Doesn't have to be famous people - just people who are interesting and have good advice to impart.

'How-to' articles would be amazing - lots of pics (or even videos), and gives you sooo many subjects - how to plait tails, how to bandage, how to clean tack - whatever!

Lots of photos! Good, high quality pics make any blog look a million times better, and more readable.

And stuff like progress reports, show updates, training sessions are always interesting. Just make sure there's a 'takeaway point' for your reader - give them a reason to read it? i.e. "I was having this issue with my horse but we worked on this and this and it worked" and so on.

Hope some of that helps! I'm ghost blogger for a few big companies so always happy to offer advice etc. And I'm always always on the look out for good horsey blogs to read! Regularity is the most important thing I think - you'll build up a following if readers know what to expect, and have something new to read once a week etc. If you're on a roll, sometimes it's good to write posts, but then save them for when you're going through a dry spell haha

Sorry, waffled on for ages there.

Our Mule has just got through to the UK Blog awards 2017 finals which we are very excited about. He writes his blogs from his point of view and what is going on in his life and the sanctuary where he lives. He finds that people will read it if it is short and has pictures in it. Too much info and people tend to get bored as its just extra info they can find anywhere. He keeps it relevant and factual. Anyway here is his entry http://www.blogawardsuk.co.uk/ukba2017/entries/muffins-monthly-musings
