I am posting this for the organiser of this even, please contact Colleen to boo, the new venue is 3 times the size of the Pavillion sports centre and was excellent last time- the more people book then the better ir will be.so far I believ 11 table are booked and the hall can accomodate 30 tables

Booked for Friday evening 30th September at King Edward VII Memorial Hall, Newmarket. Pitches available NOW at £7.50 (table provided). Vendors set up at 6.15pm. Open to Public 7pm. Admission is donation into the AHT collecting tin on entry. Pitches going fast so if you've got equestrian stuff for sale, then book a table immediately. Thanks for putting the information on about the Equine Table Top Sale whoever you are, but sadly it may have to be cancelled. Up until literally two weeks ago I have been plagued by people nagging me to get the Hall booked, and as soon as it was open for bookings, I booked it. Told everyone the date and price etc, but so far only 10 out of 24 people saying they wanted a table, have confirmed and only 3 of those have paid. The Council have now been in touch this morning and unless I confirm immediately that we are definitely going ahead, they will not hold the date. As you can appreciate, being as my name is on the booking form and I'm responsible for paying all the hiring charges, I do not want to go ahead and find that I'm stuck with only a few people having paid and I'm left footing the bill having already given them a deposit. If you want a table, get back to me today.

By the way, ignore the Postal Code given of CB75 - as it's not this at all - it's CB8 (Newmarket).

PS: Who are you "Fusaberry".

Do you know what the parking will be like at this new venue?

Last time I drove over an hour to get there and struggled to find anywhere to park (I do not know Newmarket at all!)

Sorry you had trouble trying to find somewhere to park last time, but there was and is a multi-storey car park literally only 1 minute away from that event.

IF we go ahead with the 30th September one, there is a car park about 10 yards further on down an alley. Big car park there. I will be making a decision Thursday night as to whether the Sale goes ahead or not so feel free to contact me to find out. It's a real shame, because the last one raised a good amount for AHT and everyone who sold was pleased with the turnout.

As someone else who has organised a table tack sale, it is a thankless job! I had sellers but not enough buyers, I don't understand why the people who booked the tables didn't also spread the word. People complain there are no tack sales in the area but don't show up when one is organised. I paid out for the hall and a deposit and gave up hours of my time advertising, leaflet dropping, putting it on the internet just for sellers to complain they hadn't sold enough. Organise it yourself next time!

I feel your pain but a lot of people wont book tables until the last minute.

I did spread the word for you and I really don't know what you could have done different as I saw your ads everywhere. I would have come but went away that weekend.

Thanks Claire, I did get a couple of bookings through you :) A couple of sellers complained that they hadn't sold anything. The stuff they had was junk though, who wants to buy china figures at a tack sale?

Well pleased to report that we've had a couple more people book tables today so I think the decision will be to go ahead with it and pray that a few more sellers want tables. So if anyone wants some bargains (and believe me there will be plenty), then come along to Newmarket on Friday evening 30th September.

The good news is Equine Table Top Sale IS ON! Been to the Council offices today and paid for the whole event so if anyone wants a table, feel free to contact me immediately as there still are a few tables left to fill. If you fancy coming along for some bargains, then please do. Entry is free (except we do request donation to the Animal Health Trust). Open for Buyers at 7pm. Memorial Hall in the High Street, Newmarket.
