Hi there,
I am new to the horse and hound forum, but I thought I would try to post a link to increase respondents for my dissertation questionnaire.

I am a third year Bioveterinary student at Hartpury College and currently I am undertaking my dissertation.
I would be extremely grateful if you could take the time to complete my questionnaire using the link below.
The aim is to collect at least 1000 respondents and present the results at the British Equine Veterinary Congress in 2010.
It should only take a few minutes to complete and your responses are greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Abby Armitt

Have completed, good luck, just one point, my physio works in partnership with vets and does have to obtain written permission to treat the horses, but vet does not have to see horse.

as far as i know the vet only has to be notified im training to be a physio and the people im training with only notify the vet they dont have to see the animal. at the end of the day if i want a physio i get a physio out if i want a vet i get a vet if i want a chiropracter i get a chiropracter u get the message i wudnt pay a fortune for a vet to come and say that the physio can come and then pay a fortune again.

Thank you for completing, and the additional comments which you have made on the forum, its really helpful stuff to include in my dissertation.
Kind regards

Also completed.

Just to add, it's my understanding that no one can diagnose other than a vet but ALL therapists must obtain (or the owner obtains and signs to confirm) the vets permission before the horse can be worked on.

Many people use therapists as maintenance or as a preventative measure; in these cases there is nothing for the vet to diagnose.

All the vets I've come across have been happy to give permission over the phone for the horse to see a physio/chiro etc and the owner has signed to confirm if they have spoken to the vet. If there has been an underlying issue the vet has discussed this directly with the therapist.

Hope that makes some sort of sense! Good Luck with your course
