Some if you know that I went in an equine touch level 1 course recently. I've decided to start a blog to track my journey to becoming a practitioner (my intention!!).

It's below in my sig, but I'd love some feedback on how it looks and how my course report reads. The instructor was Emma Overend and she was fab at teaching and amazing with the horses (and owners)

Her website is here for anyone interested in doing a course

And my blog is here

Any feedback appreciated.

Really inspirational, I've just started doing the EQ50 course and have been unclear as to exactly where I want to go after I've done that.

Looking forward to tracking your journey .

Thanks Gasper. That's where I started with the EQ50. There's so many things you can do and I think they all have their value. The EQ EBW course or masterson technique like TrasaM on here this weekend, or ET.

Hilariously everything I had considered Emma has done which was weird. I know I sound like I gave shares in get or something but her attitude was fab. I've been making excuses for why I've not done this and that and she made me realise I need to get on and flippin well do it lol.

Made difficult by a 2 yr old who doesn't let me get on lol. Good job she still naps in the day so I can get work done.

Lovely report Atlantis. Like you I'd worried I'd be totally out if my depth especially as I've only been riding two years. However Masterson requires very little anatomy at stage 1 so I was fine.
I was so fortunate with the horse we selected for practice on day 2. The history we were given on him was that he'd had a go at most things but never excelled at anything and was now being used for occasional hack out with his new owner. Can't help but sympathise with someone described like this. :(
Watching a big 16.3hh horse go down and lie there with his head stretched out groaning and whinnying like a foal had an incredible affect on all of us watching him. It was evident that he had physical issues but there was also a huge emotional thing happening with him.
I understand your description about intent or mind set and being with the horse. When I went on to the next horse I could not fully tune in with her because I'd been so bothered by what happened to the other boy. It was only when I was doing the head up flexing that I started to hum to her that i managed to tune in properly. I think humming will be my thing as it helps me focus and seems to calm the horse. Looking forward to learning more about ET. I think we are roughly in the same place but with slightly different approaches and interpretations. I really think you are on the right path now and horses are nicer to work with than humans :p
