I may be behind the loop on this, and maybe you lot know this anyway, but my equine vet practice (and presumably other practices too) are performing joint medications again. A useful thing to know for those of us with wonky horses.

My regular vet is back working again after being furloughed, and she is coming out to do 3 x annual flu jabs later this month. I asked about getting blood pulls for ACTH assays for the PPID duo, and that is fine to do as the vet is already coming out for the flu jabs, but a vet wouldn’t currently come out just for the blood pull.

So things are slowly getting back on track.

My vets are pretty much back to normal now.
I'm not sure about call outs as I go to them.
I had to call to say I was there and had unloaded and they came and collected her off the box. I wasn't allowed to watch the diagnostics/procedures/go into the yard or office which were the main changes.
(This was for suspensories to be medicated- we didn't actually end up doing them due to other issues but it's what we were originally booked in for)

My mum has thankfully been able to continue with a lameness work up for hers (as well as emergency call outs for laminitis then an ulcerated eye ? )

Fingers crossed there will be some normality for others too :)

Yes my vet is back to normal carrying out joint medication, also another vets coming to take xrays this week for a friends horse.
