Equine Vets Stratford Upon Avon for Vetting please...

Here we go again. But this time I'm not too worried.

I have just called John Brooks Equine re vetting new horse (praying hard, here, to all totems known to mankind that it's third time lucky, but I did it slowly and properly this time so hopefully we are ok).

They were recommended on here back in 2010. Was a bit at the price they quoted, though - £410 inc. of VAT and bloods. The last two were £280 inc. VAT and bloods, with a call out on one only.

Is that really expensive?

In addition, new horse tore a lump of skin off her face yesterday and the current owner gave her a bute (just the one) so the vets won't be able to check until Monday at the earliest - only JBE are not available then until the following week. I am desperate to get this beautiful girly home. She was just perfect for me.

Are there any other recommendations, please?

She's registered with Corner House, unfortunately, and they quite rightly won't do it.

You've got the three best vets in the area there, John Brook, (now Spring Paddocks Equine) Three Counties and Bourton Vale all very good. I'm really surprised at that price, though, my last vetting by Spring Paddocks was just under £280 inc bloods last July....their side of Stratford though, don't know how far away from Stratford your girl is, if north perhaps it would have gone up a zone in travelling costs.
