Equipe Saddle Care

Hi,

I have just bought an Equipe Jump saddle for my new horse, to the despair of my bank account, and have just seen that they recommend using special cleaning stuff. I had no idea about this, and as I obviously don't want to ruin it or damage it in any way shape or form; I wondered if there were any of you out there who used other forms of cleaning apart from the Equipe special made cleaning stuff?

You need to be most careful with the thinner wrapped leathers like calfskin, so it will depend what it is made of. Where the leather is wrapped there is glue inside which many conditioners will dissolve over time.

I use the equipe branded cleaning products.

I have the grease and the oil. I oil regularly and grease if it might get wet or has gotten wet & needs extra TLC

I was told never to grease or oil my girth straps.

I usually just clean my Equipe dressage saddle with warm water. Two years on and I haven't used any product on it.
