My not-quite-yearling is moving to grass livery the first week in May.

The amenities are non-existant, apart from the fields have a water tanker with auto waterer (so no hauling buckets needed).

Having never done anything as basic as this before, I'm not entirely sure what I'll need.

So far I have on my list:

Electric fencing/rope/posts/battery (temporary measure until he learns where the boundries are... the current fence is non-electrifed tape)

In terms of other stuff, Blitz had a headcollar, leadrope and a grooming kit.

Am I missing anything essential...

Where will you store all your stuff? Do you have room at home or will your car become a mobile tack room? You will probably want vet bits to treat minor wounds. Wheel barrow and poo picker spring to mind too.

My car already is a mobile tack shop ;)

I keep all of the equipment for my older horse at home, so I have a lot of stuff permanently in the car.

I'm not sure what the rules are about poo picking just yet, mostly though, the fields are rotated and harrowed, not picked; but I'll have to double check that... thanks :)
