Equisafety on Dragons' Den right now....

I bought a hi-viz waistcoat a few years back and within a few months both zips on the pockets broke. Have invested in another as hoped it may be fluke as its the only one I have found that has zip closure pockets (that is a tabard, not full on gilet padded waistcoat). So far so good! Hoping it lasts a bit longer than the other one did

V bandz now have zip pockets and is far superior in my opinion.

I bought a gillet/ tabard thingy a few years back, has been fine. I like that it has zippy pockets and super adjustable, as at the time most normal tabards were one sized and no pockets :(

However, as I had no issues, have no idea what the customer service is like, I bought it through a horsey online retailer.

But thanks for letting me know there was a new series of Dragons Den on! :D

what a strange comment does that make you a competitor of the company because you were not happy with your goods?

Trouble is, it always looks a bit suspicious when a poster joins the forum and their first posts are in support of a company. Me, I always assume there is a connection. :)

No I am not connected with a competitor either, just a customer who found the product quality pretty rubbish.

Can't believe so many have problems with this range, I had no idea. I gave alot if their polite range and everything has been fab. My leg wraps and waist coat are into their 3rd year despite initially washing them at 40☺️ And my winter jacket is the warmest most water proof jacket I've ever owned

My Polite waistcoat zip started to come away and the checkered pattern washed off so not happy about the quality of that. However the wrap around exercise sheets have been great.

In November I purchased three of the neck / breatscollar hi vis for my horses. They have only worn them around 6 times so far and one is still packaging. The coloured hivis top has cracked and come off in chunks, mostly along where it was folded in the original packaging .

Equisafety customer services answer
" Just a word of advice, whenever you purchase a any product like this from whichever manufacturer, be it a hatband, leg wrap etc, it is wise to ensure it is not left somewhere where the temperature may drop to freezing or below, like we have had recently. This is what can cause cracking"

How many people have a heated tack room?

I only caught the end of it when 2 of the dragons invested so will need to catch up on iplayer. Did they mention anything about the problems with the Polite range? I believe it was something to do with advertising that the Police had been consulted/approved the range which they had not.

I have some leg wraps which the stitching has started coming apart after only 2/3 uses. Also bought a jacket which was XL but the arms were rediculously long so sent it back.

I've had nothing but bad service from them.

Ordered a gilet in their sale online, to be told it was out of stock, but not actually told it was out of stock until I had noticed that they'd taken payment. She then said they had the larger size, ok I thought, to then be told they didn't have that either!!!

I requested my money back pretty damn quickly after telling them that i'd not be recommending them and telling all my friends what appalling service I had received.

I would assume lots of people have a heater in their tack room - otherwise tack will become damp and mouldy!

But I have a prolite vest and tbh it tore soon after buying but I still use it as the zip still works. Quality isn't great tbh!

Heheh, interesting though wasn't it? So much stock in hand, crazy... And now I've heard a few opinions on here I think we'll stick to selling Lunarider in our shop.

I have a Lunarider jacket that I love, 3 years old, been abused and washed numerous times and still good as new. Can't comment on the Equisafety quality but always found the Polite thing to be a bit weird...I ride a fat hairy cob, no way I could be mistaken for the police!

We sell the polite range in our shop and never had any items returned in about 3 years and we sell a lot of it. I use bits of it and never had a problem either. When I rung to speak to her about the issues with the police so I could brief customers she was v nice and never had 1 issue ever

I have used V-bandz for many years now and they even make me up some double sided reign covers at no additional charge.
Regarding the quality I think you will find that what may happen is they out-source the manufacturing of their products to a number of different out-workers and this is why some products are well made and of a good quality and some are not so good.

I must say we once bought a polite tabard but it tore quite quickly, whereas all our other (non Equisafety) hi viz has lasted much longer.

Thats still the companies responsibility , Its straight forward quality control they should never be sent out!

Thanks Ella. I shall bear that in mind just in case the pockets break on this one!

Well...I must've jinxed myself as about a week after posting this the flipping zip broke on my tabard! The pocket zips are fine its the main zip that is broken. Bought it at Olympia so not had it long. Paid cash as well and the girl didn't give me a receipt.

Think will need to be creative and put some poppers on it!

I bought the Polite Tabard when they first came out, still have it now & going strong however i did replace the zip pull after about a year.
OH stole it off me and I have a new one now, i haven't had any problems.
I'm on my second set of leg bands as the checky bit wore off (after about 100 washes).
I have the hat band which is good as new.
I must admit the velcro on the leg bands is a bit flimsy but tbh I'd rather buy a new set every year or so than not use some!
I must say I found the rather underhand way the "competitor" stirred up trouble last year for Equisafety was a bit unpleasant last year.
And no I don't work for them but I DO look like an advert for them decked out like a Christmas tree!
I prefer my Mark Todd Fluorescent exercise sheet to the Equisafety which IMO is too flimsy to be any good.
