I’ve bought some equisal kits for my little gang but just reading the instructions it says the horse mustn’t have eaten in the 30 minutes prior to taking the test.
Does this include grass?
I can do it for the ones that stay in during the day easily enough but have a horse living out at a friends with no stable. Was planning on just popping out to the field and doing him!

Yes it does include grass unfortunately! When mine were field kept without anywhere to bring them off grass, I ended up tying them to a tree, a fence, a post etc and waiting the 30 mins.

We did these last year and it said they can't drink for 30 mins prior either.

We ended up trying to tape plastic bags over the auto-drinkers and created a VERY fun game for the ponies.

To be honest I just did a test on one of mine and I just let him stand for 10 mins with no food as I groomed him then did it. I cant put him in for 30 mins as he's not a happy inside horse. Ive always done this with these tests and never had any issues not waiting 30 mins... I guess they just mean they dont want masses of food all over it.
