My new horse is apperantly dirty in the stable ( great news - another one! )

Im putting her on straw to start with to see how she goes but @2.50 a bale it the straw not going far and prob using 4-5 a week it might be cheaper to put her on sometihng else.

She is currently on equisorb but my local retailer have stopped selling it so im going to ask around today.

I got a bag of aubiouse ( i use flax on my ginea pigs as they pee for england! ) and was surprised to find it was only 7.95???? I think their aubiouse was around 8.00 too.

What are you currently paying for both of these brands of bedding please?

Blimey Claire, when zoon was on aubiose i was paying £8.65 per bale and that was discounted as I bought in bulk! Price must have gone down or you've found yourself a good supplier! Now he's on full livery I don't have a choice - just have to pay for all the extra bales of bedding he goes through as he's also very messy! Wish he was on aubiose again, I put half a bale in a week and the bed was always pristine. Pick out poos during week and take out wet at weekend. Maybe I should suggest it to my yard - it'd save them time and money as it is so much easier

This was at lillioc's Nina, i though it seemed cheap?

The saracen shavings are 8.60 a bale there and the aubiouse is cheaper and it didnt seem right to me.

See how i go on straw but if too dirty and wet i will change her to sometihng else.

Equisorb has just gone up again, I think it's about £7.70, and Aubiose over £10 from what I can remember. We've just started on "Bliss " which is £6.80, it's chopped rape straw and so far quite pleased with it.

Looked into changing from straw to aubiose but at one place it is 9.50 per bale. Over 8 pound at another so have gone for unibed that was recommended to me, that was 6.10 per bale. Haven't started using it yet so can't comment on how good it is x
