I had a lady come and do a Equissage session on my horses today, they both loved it, I wonder if anyone owns one of these machines?

If so are they worth the money?

Any idea on how much they cost, it doesn't say on their web site.

I've had mine a couple of years so I am completely out of touch re prices, but at a rough guess you are looking at about £1500 for the basic back pad - possibly more. The boot/handheld machine would be extra on top.

I think they are worth every penny and I've never heard anyone regret buying one - in fact I always hear of people wanting one but can't afford it. I think there was a thread on here recently and someone said they can make horses one-sided due to the battery weight, so I've spoken to various experienced people about this who don't agree. TBH I often put mine on backwards so alternate the side the battery is on.

Have you thought about the other massage pads out there which are much, much cheaper? They seem to have good reviews, or you could keep an eye on eBay as I have seen 2nd hand equissage units for sale on there in the past.

I think there's possibly an equilibrium one which covers much more of the back, almost like an exercise sheet. Not sure how good it is though so it may be worth doing a search on here to get some feedback.

However IMO the fact that equissage charge a fortune for theirs and haven't gone out of business speaks volumes!

Hi , i also have one which i bought second hand ! The best thing i bought for my lad! He's not tense anymore since i started using it , and have found that it seems better than my Equilibrium pad that i have! as it gives a deeper massage.
I think for the whole package ! pad, hand held, boot. is about £2,500 but that's only searching the net and what others have said!
You can pick them up from eBay! prices going around £1,000 to £1,600 . I got mine from a private advert , she wanted £1.000 ono so got mine for £900 a full set!

you are looking at around 2.5k for the back pad and hand held unit etc. i don't regret buying mine as i really think it helps and my chiro agrees. my horse is cold backed and so its very useful for warming his muscles up before i ride or cooling him off afterwards so that he doesn't get lots of tension in his back. if you look into the research behind them the movement of the equissage is totally different to the equilibrium pad- hence why they are WAAY more expensive
i sometimes use the hand held massager on my own aches and pains and it really helps me so it must help my horse :)
