Which have you used and which have you had better experience with?

Obviously cost is hugely different! Does the equlibirum pad have effect on such a large area as the equissage? What is the expected life span? Have you felt either is beneficial? If you have one how often do you use it? Can the equlibrium be used over rugs?

Any information welcomed, thanks!

I have an equissage and must admit, it really does loosen the horses up. they love having it on.
One horse that i sold recently was quite a nasty character, (bites and kicks!) but once he had the equissage on he turned into a totally different horse.
I must admit i havent used it for about 3 months but am about to start again as i have a new horse (5yr old) and i think he will really benefit from it.

Having had both I feel I can answer this question fairly. IMHO I would recommend the Equilibrium as well as it being hugely cheaper tha Equissage I feel it covers a larger area, the sessions lasts longer and weighs so much less than the Equissage.
I'm afraid I was sucked into the Equissage marketing/ bullying hard sell that they are famous for and would not reccomend them. I did at least manage to sell my Equissage before the Equilbirum came on the market, therefore not losing too much money.

i have an equissage- really rate it, but not entirely sure that it was worth the whopping price tag! have never used equilibrium so can't really compare it. i tend to use the back pad but also have the hand unit- i don't use it on horse as usually can't be bothered- but use it a lot on my own back/ shoulders and it really helps (i have a totally knackered back!) to ease pain- so if it helps horse as much as me it must be good!

Have had an Equissage for years, well before the Equilibium came out. All the horses we have used it on have liked it.

We used to really rate the hand held unit that came with it, (was useful for human use), but lent it to someone and it was returned broken:(.

Due to finances if the Equissage breaks down we would replace it with the Equilibrium.

You see this is the bit I'm not sure about - having had it demonstrated to me today (I was offered a freebie session at Gatcombe) you can feel the vibrations from the equissage right down to the tail... and not convinced that the session needs to last a long time - saw the thermal images taken five hours later that showed the large area of "hotspots" still visible.

Also not sure how important weight is when you think how heavy saddle + rider is in comparison.

Last year I won a Free Treatment from Equissage. I thought it worked really nicely and could feel a real difference on a usually very tense pony. Having been very pleased with the free treatmet, then spent at least half an hour having it sold to us!! Just made me put the brakes on more tbh...
Never used the Equilibrium pad on my horse, but have to say it worked a treat for a quick hungover nap at work ;) lol
In the end I got a hand held massager which is like the handheld bit that Equissage do. I love it! Goes on the horse as well as myself and is jst fab :) Can't think what make it is though...

I love my Equilibrium massage pad.

It was recommended to me to use it for a while as the Welsh Cob was rather tight down the left side of his back, I borrowed one for 2 weeks and was very impressed with the difference.

The Welsh Cob is normally quite tight to start, his build doesn't encourage him to stretch and relax through his back and neck but I've found using the Equilibrium has made a huge difference, I can now ask him to work from the off and bring him up into a much better frame.

re session length- i would have thought that 20 mins would be about right. i know that when i use the hand unit on myself it gets uncomfortable if i leave it in one place for too long...
and its really not heavy at all...

I love the equilibrium pad. I wasn't all that sure, but went from using it 3x+ a week to not at all for a while and my mare did become noticeably tenser and took longer to warm up than when I had been using the pad. Have started using it again, and hopefully will return back to having a nice soft pony ;) . When it's on, certain stages of the massage mean you can feel the vibrations all through her body. She is also a hyperactive type, and she will stand quietly on the yard with it on. A very well rated equine bodyworked around us really rates them too, and will use them over an Equissage. :)

I love my equilibrium pad but not as much as my horse does :) He is a real fidget normally but stands there and falls asleep and is much less tense to ride afterwards. The only problem I find with it is that it tends to slip down his left side as the controller and battery are all on the same side. Do other people have this problem? I have to keep checking it but find it stays much better under a rug.
