Hello,
I'm in need of some short boots and gaiters for my 11 week USA trip this summer, I've never in my life had short boots, always wore long ones, but I don't have enough space in my bag for long boots, and they also tend to weigh more than short boots and gaiters. Also, I don't handle heat very well and i'm afraid my feet might cook in the long boots in temperatures 30C+.
Anyway, I have done a bit of research and have found Equitector boots with the Climate Control Technology, and wondered if anyone has experiences with them and whether they're actually any good at keeping your feet cooler or are they just like any other pair of jodhpur boots??
Or if anyone has recommendations that'd be good too :)
Thank you!

ETA. They do need to be smart enough to compete in also :)

bump - i am interested in these too, didn't get a chance to try them our at Your Hrse Live as the stand was so busy. 11 weeks in US sounds fab :D

Thank you for the bump :) I'm so excited, 71days!!! :D The only part i'm not looking forward to is the heat/sun, i will have to put SPF 50+ on every day twice a day :/ Just need to find good boots and buy my insurance, everything else is now sorted :D

I love mine, they have lasted really well and my feet never seem to get too hot or cold in them. The only thing I would say against them is they wouldn't be the best fit on wide feet and the toecap could be bigger. However, I find them very comfortable and would buy again. If you can try before buying I would because I ended up with a different size and model to the ones I thought I wanted :)

I have the long riding boots, just starting my 2nd pair they last for years and I got them re-healed and new zips by the company. so comfy and feet not hot in summer but warm in winter. expensive but well worth the money. I got my second pair on ebay so if you know your size and width you may get a bargain.

I have the normal short paddock boots from Equitector and they have been fabulous; will get another pair when they come around on offer again. I have walked miles in them, loaded umpteen horses that weren't always the best behaved and they've never let me down with slipping on wet ramps either. Even in summer I haven't had any problems with over heating in them or at least not while I've worn them although when it's hot it's always nice to change into something else, there's never been a time when I've thought 'I must get these boots off now!'

I have 2 pairs of the short paddock boots - one black pair and one brown. I had a pair previously that lasted over 10 years without being cleaned properly. Always found them very comfortably and my feet have never felt too hot or too cold.

equitectors are good but come up narrow IME so try them on, they are also not particularly light. are you doing CA? because it was so hot when I did it I ended up wearing trainers except for actually riding. if its in a hot area you'll also be hosing horses down constantly so bear that in mind for leather boots. have fun!

Thank you everyone!
Unfortunately the nearest store to me that stocks them is nearly 2 hours away, so it's not really possible for me to go try them on.
I'm not going to CA but i'll be going to South Carolina near the coast, so it'll be pretty hot there too.
I have tried on the ariat heritage III, and found them comfy, fitted perfectly, but im not sure how the equitectors and ariats compare fit wise?
I may have to just buy them and hope that they fit really. They'd go really well with the gaiters i've chosen :)
