Equitition class on the lead rein??

Just reading a show schedule......there is a class for Equitition, riders under 12 years old, and it says lead rein riders welcome- to do a short walk/trot show.

So whats the difference between that and a lead rein class?

They will be judging the rider's riding ability, rather than judging the pony's conformation and manners.

I don't know, never done an equitation class, but I would have thought that equitation classes are judged on the rider and lead rein classes are mainly judged on the pony.

Just to update...daughter did this class on Sunday - 12 years and under...fairly large class, she came second (aged 6)

Dead chuffed she was.......

....TBH didn't think people would be that interested, and it would have been a very short thread as we have no piccies...OH in bed (nights shift) son on strike and refused to attend to wield a camera, and grandparents away for weekend
