Hi
I am trying to sort out my horses diet before going barefoot.
Wondered if anyone has experience of feeding equitop to barefoot warm bloods or similar and also as I only want to feed a balancer at meal times which one could barefooters recommend?
I am just looking at all possible avenues but plan to turn out mornings only before strong sun and high sugar and feed a mixture of soaked a d dry ad lib hay.
Any advice experienced gratefully received to be added to professionals advice.

Thanks

A good barefoot diet is the same as a straightforward balanced 'healthfood' diet! Alot of people get on v well with a few handfulls of fast fibre with a vit/min balancer added. Equimins meta balance, pro hoof or the forage plus balancers are the best. A couple of 100g of microionized linseed is a great addition too (from charnwoods or is cheaper if you can get your feed store to order it in for you). I would start with that and see how you do before deciding to add other things, you might find yourself pleasantly suprised!!
