Need a muscle builder on the horse in conjunction with his work schedule, reviews are about half and half for the use of myoplast but it's SO expensive... Have read some people supplement lysine in it's pure form, it's relatively cheap from progressive earth. Have also read people feeding human grade whey powder but I'd be terrified to try that! Reviews anyone?

Does the diet have sufficient protein? If so I'd just go with lysine (and work!) as the most likely limiting amino acid in the diet.

Sorry never used either. But I have a friend who has used the myoplast with fantastic results on her horse. She said it was well worth the money.

My sister fed extra lysine to her youngster with a very poor neck, put lots of extra topline on him, great stuff

That is amazing.

When you follow the chemical analysis of the myoplast, there is nothing stunning in.

The daily recommended dose is 50 gram. It does contain about 23% of protein which is 11.5 gram of protein in regard to the 50 gram daily dose

The protein donor is an algae (Spirulina)

If we calculate the way back on behalf the chemical analyses of the algae, the content is about 20 gram of this algae.

Thy lysine content in this algae is (when a good source) about 3.15% and so you will feed with the daily dose about 0.63 gram of lysine

Well a horse will need depending on work and weight between 35 - + - 50 gram per day in total.

One KG of beetpulp does contain about 6 gram Lysine, one KG of oats does contain in the average about 3.4 gram of lysine.

This analyses is very similar to others: http://www.spirulina.co.nz/analysis.htm
