Has anyone built in additional storage in their trailer...especially the equitrek space treka?
Having replaced the floor that had gone rotten in the tack area of my space treka, my husband has offered to build me a load of storage rather than the small seat storage that came as standard.

I'm struggling to come up with a design that will obviously be lightweight but use the space efficiently and being easy to use. I have the usual saddle and bridle hooks but it's space for poo picker, buckets, water, grooming stuff etc that I'm after...all of which is currently dumped on the floor and gets thrown around while travelling.

Has anyone done this and able to provide photos of their handy work to give me some ideas?

Could you use 'Really useful' boxes instead and then secure them either with straps, or maybe your hubby could make frames on the floor to keep them in place.

I have everything in plastic boxes in my night trekka. Keeps it all neat and easy to get to.

I agree with this. My horsebox came with no end of bespoke storage from the previous owner - a place for everything. I kept it up for a while then put a wheelie bin in there and chucked everything in there.

Imo a large cupboard or storage box will be more useful than lots of hooks and cubby holes.

I do have the grooming stuff and first aid etc in boxes so just securing them was my initial thoughts for that so I'm glad it works! It's more the awkward shaped stuff like poo picker and chairs I was struggling with ideas for 🙂

Yeah... I want to make sure it's not too bespoke! It's the awkward shaped stuff that I'm most stuck with and my hubby is keen to do something fancy but i have reservations on it working if what I want to take changes. I quite like the wheelie bin idea, how do you secure your bin?
