Hi, I purchased a new Equitrek supersonic 5 last summer. I have endless problems with it, one being a front suspension issue....i kept 'bottoming out' at the front. Equitrek aren't accepting that there is a problem and keep telling me that all their other customers are very happy with the way the lorry drives.
Would love to hear from any of you out there whom may have had similar issues....
thank you in advance, Kate.

I haven't had a problem but Equitrek are known for terrible customer service. I'd get an independent report and take it from there. Involve Trading Standards if necessary.

My friend got a new one a few years ago and she has had nothing but trouble.
And they didn't really want to know.

If you want to argue with a company over a technical issue, as you appear to want to, then you need to get your own specialist to fight your corner. Get an experiences lorry mechanic to examine your lorry & prepare a report for Equitrek's action. They will only take notice of someone who has an in depth knowledge of the alleged issue. Good Luck.

They're local to me and have to say, while they do look pretty, I've never been that impressed with the build quality.

Also (not relevant to this thread but makes me grrr) the bloke who drives their transporter is an idiot, almost ran me off the road last year, came careening round a blind bend towards me on my side of the road and in my attempt to avoid a head on I swiped the kerb and cracked an alloy.

OP, can you have the lorry independently assessed?

I agree with others that the only way to get action will be to get a professional report.

We looked at them a while back, and had a look at one coming out of the factory. It was flimsy, with badly cut edges and other faults. When pointed them out and asked if they would be righted before the lorry was delivered, I was told they were for transporting horses, not a luxury car.

I thought if their customer relations was so poor BEFORE they had my money I would not get much help after they had it!

TBH I rejected them as well, as I believe the breast bar and narrow doors are not fit for purpose.

Good luck, and as I said I would have an independent mechanic look at the suspension.

Many thanks for all your comments.
Seems as if Equitrek's P.R. skills have a lot to be desired!
I am going to pursue the matter...have got trading standards involved now, will let you all know how I get on!

Good luck - I hope you manage to get a satisfactory resolution to your problems.

I've heard nothing but people having issues with their lorries/trailers and having zero satisfaction from Equitrek. It is such a shame as the ideas are good but the build quality is shocking.

Yes I've come across him as well. Scrapes them under trees and against hedges and all sorts rather than waiting and taking utmost care with someone elses property.

Drives it like he's stole it as well. God only knows how the trailers stay on the back of the bloody transporter.

They had problems with the bearings/axels on their trailers years ago and denied there was a problem. After a few years they had to admit there was a problem.

Scoundrels!! I had some dealings with them a few years ago and I wouldn't touch them with the proverbial barge pole. A slightly different situation to yours but I had to fight them tooth and nail and their tactics were alarming in the lengths they would go. Get an independent report and as much information as you can then prepare yourself for a fight. Good luck

Yup

I am going to buck the trend here and say just how much I love my Equitrek Super Sonic lorry. It is just the best lorry, so easy to handle, the horses all love it too. I use it weekly and yes there are some things I could fault, but nothing to make me regret my choice. I am always excited to drive it, as it handles so beautifully. There is no risk of horses jumping into the grooms area as its a solid wall, it's airy, I love the rear facing and easy loading. Regarding the bottoming out in front, are you sure it's not the exhaust? My exhaust sometimes bottoms out as its so low drivers door side.
They are nearly as rare as hens teeth secondhand so people do hang onto them. It was the best 4.5t in my price range (bought secondhand)
