Asking if anyone has taken delivery of a new shape Startrekka. Ours has arrived and has an immediate problem with the concave shape of the roof. Water pools around the fanlight ventilator and leaks into the horse area. The water froze the other night and would have shifted as a sizeable block of ice if it had become dislodged in transit, it’s impossible to access the area to remove the water. We are having to store it wil 2 front wheels off the ground at all times and that only minimally reduces the issue and it’s still flooding, leaking and pooling. Looking at the RAC legal info it appears we are liable if the ice dislodged and caused an accident and also as a known problem our insurance will be invalid in any subsequent injury or public liability claim. Grateful for any feedback as we are now reluctant to use the trailer and wonder if there is a trading standards issue.

Surely if it is leaking, then you need to return it as not fit for use, they are not cheap to buy!
Of course they can offer a fix for this.....

Ref the potential for any lumps of ice or snow coming off any vehicle, yes - the driver is liable for any damage done from ice/snow if external areas are not cleared before going on the highway.

Return and demand a full refund, otherwise you are just in for a load of hassle and stress. Don't they have quality control in their company, I have heard so many horror stories.

this seems predictable given the roof shape, their post sale customer service is generally terrible so you will need to prep yourself for a fight over it

Interestingly I saw 2 people comment on a bloomfields post (pretty sure it was them, comments not now visible) saying they've had a similar issue with water pooling on the roof.

This is the angle we have to park but at and you can see the discoloured roof and area and the trailer is less than 2 months ild

Is this a brand new trailer?

If so return it as not fit for purpose and demand a full refund. Though good luck with that with Equiwreck 🙄. Crappy trailers and crappy aftersales service.

Or if you bought from a dealer, have it out with them.
It’s brand new, the elite version, we haven’t even had a horse in it yet. There are many other manufacturing and fitment problems as well and the standard of finishing is abysmal. I can’t seem to load a photo of it but the roof is already discoloured and I. Heavy rain I filmed the water pouring in through the closed fanlight.

I would be very upset with that situation. I have had two Equitreks in the past, horses travel well in them. Mine never leaked though. I never had any trouble with them. They were fit for purpose, it seems yours is not.
