Anyone had either of the above? I'm aware they are very much like marmite, and am also aware of te various problems people have highlighted previously with build quality/recalls etc. BUT for me at the moment the potential pros outweigh the potential cons, and I am looking to buy next month. I need to transport a 16.3hh and/or a 14.2hh, mostly one at a time but occasionally together, so I would go for the Show Treka L. But the other option is an older second hand 3/4 or 5 Star Treka - the advantage of those being the amount of extras laid on and bigger living etc, but disadvantage is the size - anyone had one? Was te extra size worth it? I am a very confident driver/been towing for years and have a full B+E licence and also C licence, and drive a landrover defender so weight not a huge issue - but are they a nightmare to manoeuvre?

I have a show treka and love it. It's not as easy to park as a Bateson, but it's not a nightmare, just a little bigger. The living isn't huge, but does fine for the odd night away, and it's lovely to have somewhere to sit and get changed. We've not had a single problem with the trailer (touch wood!)

Always had a show treka and I loved it. Again a little bulkier to manoeuvre was a b****r to reverse onto my drive but with practice got the hang. The living was workable and never had any probs we bought direct from the manufacturers when they were based in Meltham.

I've had a five star for several years now and love it, having previously had an Ifor Williams 510. It's fairly heavy when fully loaded but not difficult to manoeuvre and gives the horses a very smooth ride - my mare slept in it for the 8 hours it takes us to get to Hickstead and stepped off the trailer fresh and raring to go. I wouldn't swap it for anything!
