Equitrek Trailers Tack Lockers - am I missing something here? Help please?

Could anyone give me advice please on the Equitrek trailers tack lockers, as to an accurate measurement across the width of the opening? It looks quite a small opening to me, although inside I can see it opens up much more once inside. I roughly measured it to be about 40cm across (the height wasn't a problem) and there is two saddle racks inside so have to fit in two saddles.

Do they only take "certain" saddles I wonder? Or small saddles?

I've squished my saddles together more than I liked to and they are 46cm wide including the chunky exterior knee rolls. I cannot get them thin enough to fit through a 40cm opening, but I cannot believe a tack locker would be made that doesn't take ALL saddles.

Am I missing something, is there a "knack" I am missing at getting the saddles into the tack locker?

I used to get a 17” Albion k2 in, I used to kind of tip it on its side

It’s tight if your saddle is wide. I used to have to sort of angle my xxw saddle to fit it in. My new standard wide is easier. Once in all fine. Managed two no bother, but use a saddle cover...

As with Mcfluff, I have to sort of angle my saddles to get it in. They are MW and I can get both a dressage and a jump in ok

Newer equitreks have a wider door (hooray!) , but the old one, I too tipped the saddle to get it in.

Thank you everyone, I think my saddles are just too wide and with massive knee rolls to fit in theses lockers, what a shame.
