Has anyone ever come across this?

In 45 yrs of being around Ponies i have never come across this.
1 Eye, Yes..

Obviously if this is the case, then the prognosis is dire...

Awaiting a "Definite" tomorrow....

:(:(

Maybe related to a herpes attack whilst young.

My good event mare has occasional bouts in either eye. She has slight bullet hole damage to her retinas from a herpes attack whilst a youngster. She wears a fly mask at all times when turned out and this pretty much controls this. She is now 18 and had her first foal last year. Since having the foal and stopping competing she has had much fewer attacks. It hasn't affected her eyesight or her competition carrer

Sadly, I have, not with my horse but a horse I knew. The first eye was taken out due to ERU, the second eye developed ERU in the other eye about 8 months later. They battled with it for a few more months but it wasn't a good outcome :( Vets said Pharaoh would have probably been in the same situation as his was secondary ERU but it never had a chance to get that far.
Good luck, hope there is a good outcome :)

Unfortunately, yes, personal experience.

Started in near side, few days later in offside - but this side was under control very quickly.

Near side - complete swine months and months of treatment and tube fitted.

Not using wood pellet bedding are you??
