8 thousand volt electric fencing usually sorts this issue out! ?

A ‘mere’ 4000 volts little zap is a tickle to my gelding.

So i got myself a fence line tester - sorted out joins that were weak, bought low ohm/resistance electric rope, made the lines super tight, and gelding hasnt escaped since upgrade ?

You feel terrible but electrify everything.

We had a turd of a horse who would walk around the paddock to check the fences were on/off and worked out the gate wasn’t electrified and would jump it or chest it off it’s hinges.

we had to put stand offs around the entire property on both sides of every fence and additional electric stretchy things in front and behind every gate.

it’s so annoying isnt it? And those that chest the gates off the hinges...............that made me crazy.

We had a problem on the farm with either cattle or sheep, can't remember which and my husband electrified a metal gate. It had a switch to one side so you had to remember to switch it off before opening it. Worked very well.
