My horse keeps getting out of her paddock- we have electric fencing which is all still in tact so I'm guessing she's jumping it although I have never been able to catch her in the act! I have put hay in for her but she seems to prefer the next paddock to hers.

Any ideas as to how I can keep her in? I don't think the livery owner will make the fencing higher, should I put another row of field tape inside?

Most of the paddocks have at least 2 horses in, Tash was on her own although she could have 'over the fence' contact with others if she wanted to, but she now shares. The paddock next to her has been empty recently and I think she's going in there for extra grass. Maybe when the horses are out in that paddock again she might stay put !

There are horses on my yard who escape 'because they can'
Is she wearing a rug?
My horse used to limbo between the strands, I know someone who ties a piece of electric tape to the straps on the front of the rug, making sure it goes inside the rug and touches the horse then if the push against the fence they get a shock.

My horse would find a way of getting into the next door field if there was grass in it! He can get through, over, under, round any barrier, even though he's flipping 23 and should know better and has only one eye! My long-suffering YO keeps a running score of all his ASBOs. She's quite used to seeing his anxious little face peering at her from over the WRONG gate in the morning. Short of nailing his feet to the floor, I haven't been able to stop him yet! I suspect your ned might be the same hun. She'll stop doing it when the spring grass starts to grow. Til then, it may cost you a lot in apologetic bottles of wine! Good luck x

Thanks for this but I think I have solved the problem ! well fingers crossed anyway!

She wasn't jumping as I thought but limboing - double fenced with 2 strands of tape and, touch wood, she's stayed put ever since.

Thanks again everyone
