Eskadron control headcollar, anyone used ?

I have one for my big boy when he was playing up,it did the job, don't think I'd use one on a youngster though. I would rather use a monty roberts dually halter instead

We've got a thug on the yard that is a nightmare to bring in if you use anything other that the Eskadron headcollar.
We used to use the Monty Roberts 'Be Nice' head collar which worked but it would 'be nice' if we could have got the thing on him out in the field (he learned to stick his head up and at 17.3hh no chance were you getting the headcollar on him), we now turn him out with the controller on and have no problems as he can't stand on that the same way he would a 'be nice' head collar.
As above not sure I would use it on a youngster.

I've got one. I used it to instil some respect and manners in my strong minded mare! It worked and don't need to use it now. Still have it for if needed though.

Thank you very much for your comments, and also remarks re using on a youngster. My yearling filly is a warmblood x and already 15.2. She can be vey good at walking on her hind legs if she wants her own way !! She is not nasty in any way, but too big to throw her weight about.
Once she accepts you are the boss she is fine , I have had youngsters before, but this one is quite opinionated !!

They are quite hard to come by now as they don't make them anymore I don't think? Make sure you buy spare rings too because they're the safety ones and they break occasionally. I did double check it would work by using a chain rope round the nose before I invested though. BH is a big lump and apart from chain round nose he pulls away from anything. Hooligan

We thought about one for our boy when he got very rude at 18 months but again thought as he was so young maybe it would not be the best for him. In the end I got a Richard Maxwell headcollar which has made a big difference. He is 3 soon and stands 16.1 now and still respects it. It is the only thing I am confident to lead him in and I am a short middle aged woose!
