Just to be nosy really, was wondering what people take out on a hack with them?

I don't mean obvious things like high-vis or hat etc, just random things!

I'll go first-
Lip balm- especially in this cold weather!
Phone- don't use it but just in case.
Knife- a fold up one that also has a fold up hoof pick too.
Baler twine- because my friends martingale snapped once and I've carried it ever since

phone ALL WAYS! car keys and tend to have a head torch in my pocket but not planning on being out in the dark, it just lives in my coat!

Keys to the yard! The day I forgot them, and carefully popped the padlock, was a day I'd rather forget. Poor Alf was a bit confused when I made him wait outside the gate for half an hour until I managed to get hold of a friend to come and hold him while I climbed the gate and went to retrieve the keys from my car!

Inhaler
Phone
Tissues

And I keep trying to remember to take with me hoof pick and twine and a friends reins snapped once out on a hack and twin would have come in handy!

Hoof pick - need to get a folding one
Phone
Baler twine/string
Keys
Treats
Money (normally £2-5)

I am also looking to get something with my contact details (keyring or medical ID card) on should horse and I part and I am injured.

Phone
Tissues
Cyclist outrider

Can cope without the first two, but I wouldn't be here now if I had ventured out without the third item.

Same blind bend, 100 yards from home, one time a tractor and slurry spreader, other time my chimney sweep complete with rattly metal ladder on roof, both travelling towards me far too fast on a blind corner on a narrow lane. They couldn't possibly have slowed down to give me enough clearance if my outriders hadn't sped on round the corner to wave them down, and I had nowhere to go to get out of their way.

I have posted on the other thread that I am retiring from riding on the road :(.

I only ever take my phone. Used it couple of months back when pony dumped me in a field when out hacking - I called my friend who was still at the yard, she drove up the road & caught pony who was cantering down the road back towards Home. Never been so glad to have had it with me.

Phone, hoof pick, piece of thin rope attached to saddle rings, and a full pack of smokes just in case something happens and its a long day before i get backp to the stables, in summer a cool drink in the saddle bag.

One summer i went out with a friend, knew we were going to be a good 4 hrs so took a canvas hat and a bottle of water for the cob he does like a drink when he is warm, lol, and a few coolies for us girls, it was great fun

Folding hoofpick
Baler twine
Mobile phone, fully charged with credit
Mini spray bottle of purple spray
Tissues
Mini tin of vaseline for chapped lips, scrapes, etc
Superglue for bigger cuts
Schooling whip
Headcollar and leadrope
Roll up waterproof jacket
Emergency bottle of water and snack
Map of area with route marked
Medication in case of becoming stranded for some time
ID in case of emergency, BEIDS or BHS card, etc
Head torch, plus usual riding gear, hi-vis stuff...oh, and the horse. Yes, I once tacked up, went to get my phone, and started to walk off along the route...

<And the anti-zombie gear, but that goes without saying! :D>

:D like this thread.

Short rides just phone and knife
Long rides phone, knife, map, lead rope, bale twine. Sweeties for the boss maybe sweeties for me. Money. Binoculars. I have to invest in a saddle bag really to take a sarnie and some water maybe pringles lunch so we could stop for a picnic in the summer.
