Hi, I have taken on a beautiful and placid little traditional cob yearling filly that was going to be shot. She's not my first horse, but is my first baby. Although I have her chipped and passported, her breeding is unknown and I was hoping you lovely people might be able to give me an estimate of what height she might make. She's a lump of a girl, 13 months old and currently standing at 14.2 at the wither and 15 at the bum. Thanks

Have a go at the string test.
Also you can get a piece of string measure from the front of the coronet band (where hair meets hoof) to the centre of the knee (you can feel the joint go in). Then measure the string.
If it's 14 1/2 inches they will make 14.2. If it's 14 3/4 inches 14.3 etc
Only an estimate but both ways are pretty accurate within an inch or so. For yearlings up.

Don't know why I'm advising this.
I did it and have put the fear of god up me.
I was expecting 16hh for my girl and it's a lot nearer to 17.2hh with the string test.
I'm hoping she's the exception of the rule lol.

She is gorgeous!!! I'm sure you will have tons of fun together :D

For future reference, I normally take a photo I've uploaded to fb, I click on the image, (right click) and chose open image, I then copy the link into the bit where I've marked xxxxx. The link should end in jpg.
