Ethanol hock fusion

Has anyone had this done? How successful was it and what level of work has your horse returned too?

Mine had it in both hocks, v expensive rehab livery for 6 months, then 12 months in field - he sill wasn't sound. ultimately pts.

I think vets are much more wary of it as treatment as it's not the wonder cure it was first marketed as.

If it doesn't work there is no other option other than PTS - it's a very drastic step

If you search for it you will see my replies on other threads, it didn't work for us and I wouldn't do it again

Didn't work on a friend's horse 3 years ago.

My vet wont do it as he thinks it is too painful. This is a highly respected practice.
