Eucalyptus oil for hooves - where do I obtain it from?

My farrier recommended it years ago but only for the sole/frog area to keep thrush at bay. I used it about once or twice per week and applied it around the frog with a dropper but never put any on the hoof wall itself. Although you can get a small bottle from places that sell aromatherapy oils ie Holland & Barrett, I ordered a larger bottle from the pharmacy counter (Superdrug in my case) and it was loads cheaper. I had to pour it into the smaller bottle with dropper to administer it and keep in my grooming box.

I use eucalyptus and iodoform mixed together to brush on hooves. It is not an oil as such, just a strong anti fungal solution. Fantastic for horses that get fungal infections in tehir hoof walls and soles. My vets make it up for me. Very cheap and extremely effective

I have a vague memory of using eucalyptus oil and, I think, sugar ? Made up by the vets, recommended by a top farrier for a horse that had white line disease and couldn't hold a shoe on. It was extremely effective and along with expert farriery, and farriers formula, that horse went on to have fantastic feet.
Will have to ask that farrier what it was, when I take a horse over to him in a couple of weeks.

This sounds very like what I have been advised to do but for one week only.
Thank you.

We got it from the pharmacy, end of 2009 my horse trod on his own hoof and cracked it from the coronet band down, he had eucalyptus oil on it to help treat the infection.

It's super stuff for hooves and really clears the nasal passages!

I have a mare that has thin soles and gets foot sore walking over gravel.

My vet suggested painting soles of feet with eucalyptus to harden them up.

I bought mine from the pharmacy.
