I am thinking of trying Euphrasia on my pony who often has white gunk on her eyeballs and sometimes this is jointed by a snotty nose. The vet says it's probably just an allergy to dust or something and not to worry. Obviously I can keep cleaning her up but wanted to know if anyone knows anything about Euphrasia (homeopathic) and how to apply / dose? Thanks.

Yep.... .I tried it for my incredibly allergic eye balls.....

To be honest it was useless for me, though it wouldnt hurt to try it.... My eyes are hidiously reactive to the slightest thing

Angelbones - for gods sake be ultra careful how you put anything on/in your ned's eyes. My boy had to have an eye removed after a 6 month battle when the staff at the yard actually stabbed him in his bad eye with the sharp plastic point of the very tube of ointment that was supposed to be helping him. There's a knack to putting stuff in a horse's eye to avoid this. If it's drops, the horse will squeeze his eye shut when he sees you coming so grasp both eyelids in your CLEAN fingers and hold the tube PARALLEL to the eye, not pointing straight at it. Pull the bottom eyelid out to make a little pouch and dribble the drops into the pouch. With creams, it's SOOOO much easier. Wash and rinse your hands thoroughly and apply the cream to your squidgy finger tip. Then squish your finger tip into ned's eye - so much safer than the pointy end of a tube. Obviously, if the homeopathic stuff goes in the feed, just ignore all this but do take care as one jerk of the ned's head as you are holding a pointy tube 1" away could mean the loss of your horse's eye.
