I don't feel particularly grateful to the BBC for the coverage they have shown as I pay a fee! If they were providing coverage for free out of the kindness of their hearts I probably would!!
on the bbc red button website... but obviously it has already started.....im confused! Why would anybody want to watch cycling rather than showjumping is beyond me!
Trailertrash, i agree that coverage yesterday was excellent, and actually i was going to do a post about contacting them to thank them, as it was fantastic, esp compared to lack of Burghley coverage.
however, it wouldn't hurt if the put up what time it'll be on, as i don't want to miss a second of it, can't record it, and have tons of work to do around it!
My coverage of the XC yesterday wasn't brilliant - I started taping it on bbci & left it on as I had to go to work at 10am - at 2pm it then turned into Formula one & it looks as tho I had to be around to press 2 again to get the remaining 2 hours of XC taped - grrrrrr - hard when Im not in!!!!!

TrailerTrash - I agree with some of what you said...I think we should be greatful for the amount of coverage we're getting from the BBC of the eventing champs, I think it's a bit disappointing they couldn't have put up something on the scrolling bar of the BBC Red Button page to say "European Eventing Champs - Show-jumping coverage delayed/cancelled due to number of withdrawals" or at least a statement on their website updating viewers. I'm sure if it was any other mainstream sport they'd at least ensure that people knew what was going on.

LOL at "any other mainstream sport" - eventing ISNT a mainstream sport, if it was then there would be all day live coverage, there would be decent reports on the TV/radio/ newspapers, it would be all over the back pages of every daily paper.... whether we like to admit it or not, eventing does not have the popular appeal of (e.g.) football and therefore does not merit the media coverage that such a sport will receive.
I do agree that an update would be useful, but for me the coverage I watched yesterday more than compensates for it
