I'm very chuffed cos a top Arab breeder in Belgium has just offered to act as official agent for Tobago in Europe!
She's a big fan of his, has her very best 3 mares in foal to him, and now wants to put him on her website and start promoting him properly in Europe for me.
Does anyone else on here have a European agent for their stallion(s)? I'm just wondering how it works and if there are any issues/potential pitfalls that this breeder and I should be aware of?
I have of course insisted that she must take a commission on any Tobago-breedings that she sells for me, but I have no idea what percentage this should be? Does anybody here know what would be normal?
I totally trust her, and know she has Tobago's best interests at heart. She stands other people's stallions at her stud, but I'm not sure if she's ever acted as agent for an overseas stallion before, so this is really for us both to get some advice.
Any thoughts?
