Any HHOs or watching on television? I see the updates from British Equestrian but other than that feel very disconnected from it as don’t have the TV channel. I think it is harder and harder for sports to engage from outside those very invested in it without wider coverage but then I suppose sitting in front of the TV with everybody watching one of three channels isn’t a thing. The British team are doing very well.

I'm watching in on CMH. You can watch it without a subscription, just on a small screen (but if you can zoom your screen in it is possible to get it normal size) I subscribe because it's a fantastic service that lets me watch a gazillion different horse things!
It's very tight at the top, but the Brits have 3 in really good form so 🤞

Ah! Just came looking to see if there was a thread on the Euro SJ.
Yes, I have followed it all. I have CMH tv. It’s a fantastic service for so many equestrian events. You can watch live or watch later and single out rounds you want to see. The first two days have been a bit endless with so many competitors, that I kept popping in from the garden to watch certain rounds. Ben had an uncharacteristic fence in the speed phase but his quick time kept him fairly well up. Matt had trouble yesterday through a difficult treble and his horse lost its confidence and wouldn’t try when represented. The other three were all clear. Scott’s round was nail biting when he lost his reins approaching that huge treble but my god he rode determinedly!
Today should be exciting and not so many competitors. Can we possibly stay in the lead? I am not convinced there are some great horses in various teams.
So sad no interest in SJ on terrestrial tv these days.

Scott's mare is uber talented but not easy. Ermitage and United Touch really are exceptional horses and both fully deserved their individual medals. Too class SJ is in a really exciting era

Why is she not easy? I wasn’t able to watch the European SJ

Scott likes them / rides them like that though. Both Gilles and Richard are much quieter riders. All enormously talented.

United touch is one of the most briefly horses I’ve ever seen, gorgeous character too.

United Touch and Ermitage are big powerful horses and can be ridden quietly to a fence when their power will get them offf the ground. Scotts mare at only 15.3 hands, likes to run and jump off her speed. She probably could not jump if ridden quietly into the base of the jumps. Its all about the mechancis of the specific horse.
