For my very messy, wet mare who is on full livery where they are not over generous with bedding . She is currently on straw (not my choice) but is favoured on yard as cheaper etc. Her stable does not drain particularly well and we have relocated her haynet so she doesn't have to spin to get to her water, look over door etc - this has helped a bit.

I understand EVA are lighter therefore easier to lift to clean but can dislodge in stable ?

Any thoughts/advice gratefully received.

i have eva 34mm in one of my stables and they dont move,i just chuck a handfull of shavings on top and sweep everything out in the morning, i would say theyre no good for horses with road nails tho, i have a very heavy large welsh cob on mine so they can take a good weight and ive had mine 2 years and theyre brill-id definatly recommend them:D

Thanks for that. Those were the ones I was looking at so that even if her bedding was a bit sparse at least she wouldn't be lying on concrete. She is a chunky Heinz 57 (differing opinions as to Welsh, Highland, New Forest or a mixture of all 3) and I am trying to do without rugs for as long as possible so was hoping the mats would insulate too.

I have had a word about the lack of bedding, one of the pt workers always gives her a lovely bed at the weekend but it is not kept up during the week - hey ho....

they are very soft-ment to be like lying on soft turf, im replacing my other mats with them in the spring cos theyre so good. i have the easymat ones from ebay :D

I have EVA in my horse box and they arn't as hard wearing as the rubber ones in my stables BUT i guess they're a lot thinner so maybe the thick ones in stables are fine :0)

I have EVA thick mats in my stables. They have been down for 4 years and have been excellent worn well with or without shoes.

I got mine from 'The matman'. I gave the internal measurements of my stables and he cut them to size for me. They came like a jigsaw puzzle with and they were numbered or alphabetized with a diagram of how to lay them. Really light and easy to fit.:)
