Event pony prices

I was just wondering the sort of price you would expect to pay for a very established BE100 pony. Average Connie, 14.2.

Seems as though prices have gone crazy! I bought a very solid 90/100 Connie in 2019 for 19k and seems the prices have almost doubled since. Paying 30/40k for this sort of pony seems crazy to me, or is that just how it is now?!

Depends a bit on age, soundness, safety/ease of riding, competitiveness plus potential to step up to PTs

But yes anywhere between about 15 and 40 depending on the above. If very fancy and looking like a PT team type then more.

Thing is to get a competitive pony which is going to go out and do well plus all the opportunities the U18 have now at BE with youth champs, the money will have gone on somewhere to produce that pony. The raw materials will be £10-12k as a 4/5yo then you need to add in the production, time and money.

For a good pony that’s got a decent record you need a blank cheque. They are expensive.

Name your price, my dad's neighbour paid £20k for a 14hh jumping pony for his daughter over 15 years ago!

Friends sold their 148 a few years ago and made enough to buy a farm in Lincolnshire-admittedly it was a European team medalist!
