Event Stallion suggestions

After some late season advice please, unfortunately my friends mare has hurt her leg and needs some time off, shes a cracking big irish mare 8yrs old and graded advanced. Been running at Int and 2* level consistently and was ready to go advanced/CIC3* within the next few weeks.

So...anyway, need some advice on stallions. I dont have a picture at present, but brief explanation

16.2 big mare, long through the back, moves well, bit on forehand, plenty of scope and careful jumper, i think she is 3/4 bred. Typical old fashioned irish mare, very genuine and honest mare.

So basically looking for a quality TB stallion, or part bred, no foreign blood (sorry), needs to add more blood/engine to the mare, and generally refine her and be more compact. Either proven eventing offspring, or out there doing the job well itself with some youngstock on the ground, so any suggestions please?? Needs to be fresh/chilled semen only

Weston Justice would be my choice.....graded and proven eventer. Started at 4 star and his first crops of foals are out eventing and winning within the past few weekends! He is either full or 3/4 TB would be he would be my no brainer.
 
I totally agree with the sugestion of Weston Justice- he's a super bright, bold horse who is producing super stock. I have a 5yr old by him and she's the business
 
Very sorry to hear that such a good mare has hurt herself, though she does sound a great breeding prospect on paper! Pics would obviously help, but if you are looking for a blood type, with temperament, correctness and short coupled, who has performed to a decent level himself and has stock out there, then look at Kings Composer. The Dalcotes website has had a re-vamp and there are some better pics of him on there, than there used to be. Don't be fooled into thinking that this horse is boxy and blocky when looking at his pictures! I advise making the trip to see him personally, he's a completely different animal in the flesh. My own 4yo by him is a County show winner and is as easy and laid back as they come, with a really great walk and canter/gallop. His trot is not extravagant in front, but is through and very energetic behind and all he wants to do is please - very trainable temperament!
 
Sorry, I'm not as clued up on the TB stallions as perhaps I should be. To fill the other parts of the brief, my votes would go for either Wish Upon A Star or Godington Hannibal, both of whom are (or have been) out there doing the job and doing it with exceptional results.

S_N - yeah very gutting, she was really starting to come in to her own. Having seen her when she arrived, to now, shes a different horse! That said, she has youth on her side, very fit and healthy, just hope she's a cracking Mum too, plenty of room for a baby! Just need to find her the right boyfriend asap!

We are going to view the AA stallion Persiflage at Biddesden Stud at the weekend for our Cavalier Royale x Clover Hill mare - I've heard very good things about him, and the first crop of foal pics look impressive. Weston Justice is also high up on the list!
 
I found Persiflage very impressive in the flesh but his eventing record (http://www.britisheventing.com/asp-net/Events/Results.aspx?HorseId=71654) IMO leaves a lot to be desired if going for a slightly more proven stallion. A better AA IMO is Biddesden's All That Jazz...only available frozen but some super foals on ground and excellent BE record. He was plagued by injury for a while but will hopefully soon be back on track with new rider as before his injury he was 2nd at 2 star and graded advanced and looked set to be the next Tamarillo!!!
 
agree with Weston Justice or Kings Composer- or contact Louella as they have a limited amount of frozen Primitive Rising; he would be my first choice if you could get it.
 
I'm another for Weston Justice, proven eventing record with lovely stock.
My yearling by him out of a TBxID mare is proving very trainable, bold and intelligent.

Interesting news about the PR semen. I would have thought that to be very popular.
 
PR semen is not actively for sale- you need to ring and ask and they are only supplying to a very limited amount of approved mares.
 
Springfield Symphony should be another one that is worth considering. He would ideally complement your mare.

As 6 yo he is just starting to get going comming second in his last 100 and we hope that after Catton and Wolver he will move up to Novice. Hannah Bate thinks the would of him and he is one of the horses she takes to World Class Development. His youngsters carry a lot of presence in and out of the ring and he is one to consider.

One of my friends has just had two foals bred for eventing one by a horse called Jaguar Mail. I don't think this stallion is an eventer but is I think a full TB and top class show jumper.
The other is by Grafton salt (think thats how you spell it) this stallion has evented to 3*, dressage tp PSG and showjumped to a fairly high level. Both stallions look amazing and both foals are stunners.
 
I have a young stallion to that might be of interest called Esquimaux Zed....PM me for more info. He has already AI'd the top scoring SHB graded mare of 2009 this year so lots of interest in him.

Grafenstolz TSF ;) He's a Trakehner. There are more than a few Trakehner stallions who would serve the OP well. EH Sixtus for a start.........
 
Merit, a real old fashioned type of TB. Fantastic mover and all round lovely horse. Sport Horse Champion 1999.
I have a home bred 7/8 bred by him out of a non too genuine mare and he is just so brave and honest as well as being stunning to look at and a fantastic mover to boot.
 
Thanks for all the options peeps, she looked at loads, but fell in love with Kings Composer!! Here's hoping she takes 1st time and cooks a good KC baby :)
 
Machannah, I am using Kings Composer this year too, he's lovely isn't he! Haven't read the whole thread so I don't know if anyone has suggested him but for someone looking for TB blood and a proven eventer - Up With The Lark is an excellent choice. He's doing some walk-in collections here as is a neighbour and too busy competing to reside permanently at stud...not only can I confirm that he is an absolute gentleman, but he looks STUNNING - if anyone is thinking of using him, I would urge you to go and meet him in the flesh, as he is far better than his photos.
 
We own a 3/4 Tb I/4 i.d coloured stallion this year he had 2 in the Event breeding classes at Bramham one was 7th in the yearling filly class and the other 8th 2year old class 7th last year out of 40.
He comes from a strong eventing family and is related by grandsire Zhivago to Mr Todd discovered by Ian Stark sire of Wigwam & Cornsay Grouse

Cornsay Grouse ridden by Angus Smales placed 33rd at Burghley hightest placed under 25 rider 2009, 316 BE Pts
Kilfinnie 11 ridden by Paul Tapner 451 BE Pts, 24th place at Badmington 09, and 15th place at Burghley 09,
and his daughter at Braham this year
