For a 12yo mare by Java Tiger, good to hack hunt etc, can be marish. Talented but not been ridden by confident rider, used to be a XC machine. Would be perfect broodmare potential as good conformation etc.
This is her record. Be interested to know peoples opinions?

Mm mixed record and is quite old. Would think about £4k?
I love Java Tigers! Even though I got bucked off the only one I ever sat on

Her record isn't poor enough to stick a £1500-2500k price tag on her imho. That won't buy you much horse and she is surely better than that! I reckon £4k too.

Although BE records are very helpful, I try to sometimes look past them. There may be a very good excuse for something. It also isnt always an indicator for the future. eg, we couldnt work out what was wrong with my horse - had 5 fences down twice - until we tracked it down properly. Not having been out since, hes probs worthless! but I know that next time, nows its sorted, he should be jumping clear again.

As another extreme example - other end of the spectrum - I think one year Supreme Rock ran out 4 times, and Pippa fell off. Later that year he won the Euros!!!

I guess what I am saying is that the records dont take everything into account - eg, were those 4 run outs all stops at water (hatred of water) or harmless bad luck run outs at narrows (which most horses have at least once at some point/) Also, a couple of bad dressage marks in a row - could be rearing and resistance that lowers a horses price... OR could have been horrizonal rain on one occasion, dressage next to the xc the next = excitement, and deep going time after that! (all fairly valid excuses)

its worth what you can afford if it is the right horse for you. if you have seen it and liked it and got along with it (venif it is only going to have foals) then its priceless. If you ar not sure about the horse save your money.

also is a factor WHY she was eliminated...did she make a mistake or, was it the riders fault (maybe, as i have done more than once, they missed out a fence, i know, doh!)

I agree with you my horse has 2 big fat E on his record both times my fault for missing a fence or for jumping the wrong one. I notice that BSJA are a lot more casual about what they do as only the good results only ever go on a horses record. I saw loads of people getting big fat Es and yet still enter more classes as it did not matter. I think BE is the only affiliated org to give full results and sometimes the whole story is not told.

Thanks, Lucretia wish I was in the market for another one, but unfortunately I'm not. I knew this horse before she started eventing, and at the beginning of her eventing career. She was sold after she reached Novice, and unfortunately to a not very experienced jockey who has since lost her nerve, hence why she is possibly going to be back on the market. Set me thinking how much people think something like her would be worth, as I know what was paid for her as a 4yr old and also as a 8yo when she was sold last time
