I emailed the nice BE people & this is what they said:

PNP stands for Pre-Novice Plus. It is a new class to be introduced in 2008 to try and bridge the gap between Pre-Novice and Novice levels. Competitors will do a Novice level Dressage test and Show Jumping but the Cross Country will be at Pre-novice level.

Sounds good

Although I'd be rather phased at the idea of jumping a SJ track Novice size!!

Ok haaang on a sec, just got another email saying this:

I just wanted to clarify with you that the show jumping for the PNP will be of a PNP standard, in between Pre-Novice and Novice. Sorry for any confusion, I think I said it was of Novice standard in the previous email.

Please accept my apologies for this.

that sounds a bit better!

So now that the BE has an 'in between' for all levels except intro to PN, so will they introduce one for that as well??? I personally would't do it, but just wondering whether after this year there would be a demand for it!!!

good idea-but if i had been to move up from PN...it would be the xc i would rather be doing higher than the other 2..but maybe thats jst me!

That is such a good idea may be trying them later in the season as think the gap between PN and N will be a bit much for my small mare to take XC but this is a way of stepping up a bit.

Well done BE again

Me too! Maybe they should start doing Pick Your Own events - you can choose which level you want to do for each phase

Dressage test of trot down the centre line, halt, salute and leave the arena!!! My dream idea of a dressage test!!! Then stick up some big jumps!!!
