Eventers showjumping at Stockland Lovell

Hi,

Has anyone been to this before? was it fun? I am going on Sunday and can't work out from the info on their website how it actually works. I know it's showjumps into cross country-style jumps, but is this all in the arena? How do they judge it - is it partially timed or is there a jump off etc?

Its is probably the same as JAS and the one at Towerlands - 9 ish Sj's then on to 9 ish XC jumps inc things like bounces, styles etc.

XC is timed and you get time faults so fastest and clearest wins!

I did it last year absolute waste of time. Nice course but really uninspiring as it was only clear round. I thought it was a very expensive clear round and far better off doing BSJA. The XC type fences they has at the end consisted of a corner and 2 skinnys. In fact I am avoiding both the SLM and Pontispool one and going BSJA instead as far better. My other moan would be that the SJs are poly jumps which I loathe. Much prefer wooden poles!
On 18th SLM has combined training - Dressage, SJ course with xc type fences at end of course and that is much better value for money. They are doing separate jumping classes if you do not want to do dressage.
 
Well i'll see you there,(not that i know who you are, or what you look like hehe) as i'm planning on taking 2 or 3..
i went last year, and can't honestly remember it.. it was a round of SJs with 2 or 3 xc style jumps on the end of the course, nothing like JAS tho!! i think the xc jumps were only stuck on the end for a laugh, as the year before, they didn't have them.
 
The Pontispool one looks better value as at least Raf Suarez is building it.

If you don't mind going over the bridge the one at Cricklands I think is good, they also have dressage as well if you want to do it. Siennamum did it recently
 
Going on the 24th to Cricklands! I am being prepared this season which is a first.
 
So there is no placings? That sounds rubbish. Was going to use the cross country course afterwards too though...

Am currently doing some BSJA, but fancied something a bit different - was planning Badgworth for the 18th.

Really not worth going then?
 
Its not a competition if you go clear in first round you can do another round and if you get another clear then you get a clear rossette.
Much better doing combined training as that is a comp. It will be the same jumps as well. Pretty sure that will be run as a competition if you did not do the dressage. The course opens this week for schooling weather dependent.
 
The one at cricklands is very good I went at weekend, you jump round course of show jumps and then a course of poly xc jumps in fact they are the old jas jumps, with xmas trees under and by side of there is enough to use it a pre x-c shcooling and the surface is perfect. and you have the option of doing dressage first. Well worth a trip over the bridge
