So walking first dog, some scrotes started letting rockets off horizontal over people's heads in the park so my poor friend got to hear me swearing very loudly over the phone, I required a new pair of trousers and then had to wrestle a dog in full LEMME AT EM mode through the dark in a bid to get out of said park without a rocket being aimed at me.

Got home, took second dog out, got about 50 paces and found a family with multiple dogs crowded around a very stressed out/lost Staffy who they cannot take home because of their own dogs. I duly leave the hairy one home and come back with a lead ?
We blitz FB, dog warden etc, after two hours I'm wondering what to do with four dogs for the evening while my new BFF follows me round adoringly and keeps trying to climb into my lap and always has to be touching part of my anatomy.

So I'm letting the puppy out for her business and another neighbour/dog walking pal comes past and says he's found the owner, hallelujah! So we walk over (just a couple of streets away) and there's an emotional reunion and a mini lecture on collars and tags and proper fencing and such ;)

I have to say the dog was a credit to his owners, super nick and great temperament and didn't mind a tiny terror shouting at him to get out of her gaff ?

So then I had to actually walk the other dog and now I am allowing myself a quarter bottle of wine. I hope tomorrow is quieter....

Oh my.
Well it was very boring just taking all my lot out together for a last thing crap and then off to bed, so I now feel that I missed out. Not!
I love that your dog, instead of being frightened of the commotion in the park decided he was a Superhero and would save the day. 'Protect and serve', 'Never off duty'

Local police have posted today about how disappointed they were to find vandalism and evidence of firework use in the area.
I phoned it in last night and about two hours later they phoned me back to say that those responsible 'must have moved on'.
((Said park is in sight of the cop shop))

I’d forgotten the problems of fireworks night, which used to start and continue for a month either side of nov 5 th.
In Italy we banned them a few years ago..life has been really improved without them. it is illegal to sell them in the shops and the carabiniere do go on spot searches and fine any shopkeeper selling them.
We still hear the fireworks on New Year’s Eve to let in the new year and I’m usually settled in bed with the dogs and some Spumante to share with my hub.
So its predictable and fine all round..
The scenario of rockets being launched across the park is taking me back ten years in time. I had a dog who was noise sensitive to the point of convulsing if she was over shocked..It has taken years of debate to get to this point ..the positives far out way the free for all displays.Today the festivals may celebrate with lazer light shows and some controlled firework displays..which is good for everyone. It is a far cry from Chinese crackers being thrown in the streets by unruly kids or rockets launched across the park.

Clodagh..... Omg. That’s just awful.

The big thing now is throwing them in alleys/alcoves/under cars/in bottles to make the most noise possible.

That certainly was an eventful evening!

I would be really thrilled if somone could explain to me the logic behind allowing the sale of large amounts of explosive, in these days of 'Prevent', when we are meant to alert the authorities to concerning behaviour.

? Bonkers!

There were lots of fireworks here last night, there’s a massive empty box of 50 rockets on top of the bin in the park which is strewn with empty cardboard tubes. I reckon it’s going to be a bad year for it, people are rebelling against the tiers/lockdown.

Well done on rescuing the staff!

Disclaimer that I know they have huge funding issues, but we have had over £50000 of machinery taken on two break ins this month and we are still waiting for the police to turn up.
We have had a letter offering counselling though, that helped a lot.

In Devon, the Police have enough money to make a video about the Blueberry Police coming to the rescue of the non binary Tomato, who is subject to hate crime by the Carrot and the Courgette (other vegetables and fruit also commit hate crime) who are bullying it because it isn't clear whether it's a vegetable or a fruit. I wish I was making it up!

That will be a ring funded project with resources specifically from somewhere, maybe Home Office for the purpose. It is annoying when money is spent on ridiculous stuff and services can't get on with their core business isn't it?

Why are fireworks being set off? I live in Redneck City and for at least a week before and after July 4 and around the new year I hear them, a lot.
