So today me and Spotsrock decided to do a nice hack through a nearby village and come back home on the viking way. I'm riding her rising 6 spottie that isn't the bravest of horses, she likes to sniff jumps before she jumps them, no matter how tiny they are  So off we went, we had to cross the A607 to get to the village and i stupidly said ''oh its sunday afternoon, there shouldn't be much traffic, people will be at home having their sunday roast'', of course, i couldn't be more wrong! It happens that we didn't know but there was steam festival at Belvior Castle. We met a lot of scary things.
We met this, with a similar looking steam fire engine on top of it, it was driving past us on a quite narrow village road.

Then we met a lot of these:

And loads of these too:

And one lovely man stopped and let her sniff and lick one of these:

If that wasn't bad enough we also met 2 of these that were flying really low:

She was ever so good and didn't bat an eyelid at any of it!!! I am SOOOO PROUD :D One of these:
Muddy_puddle_on_Drake_Lane_-_geograph_org_uk_-_230217.jpg

jumped out at us a couple of times but after confirming it was only a puddle we happily without a fuss walked through it :D

So just a pointless happy post summing up what we have seen today (minus trillions of cars, some passing at us at an undesirable speed:mad:)
And of course we had our hi-viz stuff on to make sure that all those scary things saw us properly :D

Chocolate brownies and tea if you got this far :D

It just would look as cool if it was just words tbh ;) And she better be traffic proof now! If she isn't then i don't know what else to throw at her to make her traffic proof! Ride her round an airport maybe... ;):D

haha....good hack then!! did she try and sniff any of them?

p.s I hate seeing cows....we have huge herds of loose cows...I hate the staring...freaks me out!

no, wasn't bothered by any of it, with the quad bike she was just curious so i asked the man if he'd mind if she sniffed it, he was somewhat confused but let her come up and even lick the quad bike, she then thought he might have some nice sweeties in his pockets so the quad bike wasn't interesting anymore

Love it...got vision of your horse licking a quad and man sitting on it looking puzzled! mastercard moment me thinks!! hehehehe

Just had a vision of your spottie trying to explain her hack to her field pals. How would horses explain 'steam fire engine' using hooves and flicked ears? :)

Hahahah, well the first thing she did when out in the field was canter over to them, start bouncing up and down and snorting so i guess she was explaining it in her own 'special' way, she also waved her head round and round, could that be the helicopter or just how those scary things have wheels instead of legs? :D

She was very brave. Funniest moment has to be her brave cob companion all grown up at nearly 12 stopping for a wee on a hill and totally losing her mind as it trickled down the hill between her front legs, after spotty pony was so brave.
