Eventing – professional rider cost

Can anyone give me a guide as to what is a reasonable price for a professional event rider to compete my horse and 2 or 3 BE 100 events. No transport as I will take horse to the event and horse lives with me at home. Based in the Midlands if that helps – events will be between 1 and 2.5 hours away and rider will already be there with other horses.

I think this is one that will be highly variable and will depend a bit on if the pro already knows you and your horse or not. It will also depend on the level of the pro, not all are equal.

I’d imagine one of the 2 pros I use regularly would do it for me on mates rates in the £50-100 region. Equally a useful rider lacking rides might also do it for that.
Equally if you were asking a pro rider out of the blue, £2-300 wouldn’t surprise me, if they actually agreed!

I also suspect that as a short term catch ride, the rates might be higher than if the rider thought that it might be an ongoing opportunity.
