I found her by accident today. She had two offspring on the Olympic gold medal 1972 British Eventing Team--The Cornishman and Cornish Gold. She had a daughter Tregea, who was bred to the best of the best eventing sires and was a good producer herself. The goodness seems to have gone down through generations of event horses, although perhaps not to the very, very highest levels.
I'd really like to know a lot more about April The First and her family through tail female. The Cornishman at Munich was Cornishman V, but Sport Horse breed Database also has her with another Cornishman--this one a stallion who was a SJ and also 4th and 9th at Badminton. Is there some confusion? Are the two Cornishmen really just one horse?
Can anyone help? I've checked NED and Sport Horse Breed database, and neither April The First or Tregea have NED records.
