ok which county do you live in and how many events can you get to within 2 hours drive? I live in oxfordshire and l have 62 events which are within a 2 hour drive, just wondered where the best place to live in the country was for eventing

Live in Ceredigion (Wales) and there are exactly ZERO within 2 hours drive

You're very lucky! I live in North Wales and we have about 15 within 2 hours drive. But not all run at the level I want so probably 10 in reality and even then I can't afford to do that many even if I manage to keep the horses sound!

how lucky are you to have a pick of 62 events!!! I'm in north devon/cornwall area and i have about 3 or 4 in a 2 hour drive!

I would say I have at least 30 events within a 2 hour drive of me... I live two minutes down the road from Gatcombe *feels very smug* However, next year we are planning on broadening our horizons and travelling much further afield, including, with a bit of luck, some overseas events.

Just run through the list and (on the conservative side) I reckon there are about 35 within 2 hours of north hampshire.

I'm guessing gloucs / oxon has to be one of the better areas for events.

OMG I do feel for you guys that have so few events, or worse, NIL events within two hours of you!Nightmare!

I would be the same as B and J -so about 30 I guess.

Eventersrus- 62 events!! That is amazing!!

Pembrokeshire (furthest west you can go in wales before the sea)
i have zero. it takes me 2 and a half hours to get to the severn bridge. i would love to live nearer, all my events are over nighters

Where I live in Somerset have 47. I am lucky live within 5 mins of M5 and only 25 mins from M4 so it makes life a great deal easier.

i think most of our events are within a 2 hour drive the furthest we have been in the uk is sommerly and that was 3 hours but well worth the drive but i will; just learn my test a bit better next time of we go again - going that far and foprgetting it twice dosnt go down well!!

I have about 14 within a 2 hour drive but loads in a 2.5hr drive, infact dont usually go any further then 2.5hrs as dont really need to

Where I used to live (not london) was conveniently between gatcombe and badminton, and just 10 minute drive from the M5/20 minutes from the M4

So we had pick of all the events in glos/somerset/s wales/oxon/berks/wilts within a two hour drive - just counted up in the 2008 calendar and I reckon 60...

I live in monmouthshire south wales. WE have 2 very local BE Mount Ballan and Chepstow. Then i compete all over Stafford is probably the furthest I go which takes about 2 and a half maximum.

Same as Hotellie I'm in N Yorks. At a count: Allerton, Bishop Burton, Richmond, Aske, Skipton (just), Northallerton (until they stopped running) and Beckwithshaw though I've never been there. Think that's about it Ivesley is about 2.5 hours but I would rather spend 3 hours on the motorway going to Cheshire (Somerford, Henbury etc.) than 2.5 hours on twisty B roads getting to Ivesley.
