EVENTING IRELAND PRESS RELEASE. FOR RELEASE SUNDAY AUG 26TH 11AM
26/08/2007 10:25:55
Eventing Ireland has regrettably received the resignation of Performance Manager Lars Christensson, effective immediately, for personal reasons. In the two years he has held the position, Lars has made an enormous contribution to the sport and moved it to a new level. The executive and members of Eventing Ireland wish him every success in the future and thank him for his contribution to the sport at all levels.
At the request of Ben Jellet, Training & Performance team leader, an independent panel consisting of Eventing Ireland President Lord Carew, Jean Mitchell MBE, and Jessica Harrington, advised by chef dequipe Brendan Corscadden and former World Games Medallist John Watson was convened to discuss the decision made by the Performance Manager to not fill a possible six places at the upcoming championships. The meeting reviewed the situation and found that in the overall best interests of Eventing Ireland and its long term plans and aspirations, the decision is valid and thus ratifies it in full.
For the imminent European Championships at Pratoni del Vivaro, the Chef dEquipe Brendan Corsadden will be in charge, assisted by dressage coach Sandy Phillips and with the help of the High Performance Administrator, Joanne Hepburn. We wish them every success in the competition.
