Hi all!
Just a brief report from Billy and I this time! We were off eventing again but was very nice to be at our local event which is just 20mins from us so a nice leisurely wake up and preparation this morning! We were doing the PN amateur class again.
Dressage was imo not great, it felt a bit rough and he tripped a few times and fought me in a couple of transitions but other bits were good. Give and retakes in canter much improved from last time as well
Very pleased with the halt!
Very pleased to get a score of 18.3 for the dressage! :O :O It must have looked a lot better than it felt!!
Next up was the showjumping, my nemesis. Our last sj lesson went really really well and I was hoping I could recreate the jump! Warm up was mental, very packed and on the side of a hill so I kept under or over-pushing Billy into the fence which put me on edge. Then Bill decided to go crazy pony and pretend that every other horse in the warm up was out to get him & we started to do some pretty impressive sideway leaps above ground!! At this point I decided to cut my losses and just go jump!
The showjumping was also on the side of a hill and I tried so, so hard to set Bill up and push the right amount into each fence. Well what can I say my fabulous Bill jumped incredibly well and was moons above each fence so am incredibly pleased to say that we jumped a clear
Shows that we can do it and that we are getting there!
So next up was the xc, which I had already decided we werent going to go flat out as ground was rock hard but at least it was PN time so I was hoping we could still make the time. Bill again became crazy billy for some of our warm up as he became very excited that he was about to go xc
He was awesome xc! Jumped everything with no issues and flew up the hill although I did make sure I held him coming down the steep hills as he was still feeling very enthusiastic
We had a double of brushes on a right hand turn 3 strides which were shorter than I anticipated and the angle of the turn a lot steeper!! We were very lucky to make the turn, whoopsie from me lol. But we recovered and flew the rest
He was fab xc and loved every single minute
Very pleased to say that we finished within the time and finished up 2nd overall with the winner on 15!
Thrilled with Bill and that makes us 2 for 2 this season so far 2 events and 2nd at both!
