My mare who has had a successful first year in eventing last year with 2 wins and many placings at BE100 and who was just about to go Novice had a schooling accident 3 weeks ago and now has to have a year off without any guarantee she will come right! Have done all my crying, screaming and shouting and now have calmed down and so heyho off the breeding line we go as I have bred many successful dressage horses but never attempted eventing. Advice please to improve a 16.1 national hunt type TB mare with good conformation and a great brain, I am looking to improve her showjumping technique and add a bit of bone, her dressage paces are already very good. She can't travel for the next 12 weeks so AI is the way to go. Any advice appreciated

A friend of mine used Dark De Niro at Louella stud and the offspring filly is stunning. She is using him again this year.

Your best bet for a commercial foal is to look at some of the big popular Irish event sires- like OBOS quality and Ramiro B . Actually ramiro stands in the UK now & he has a ton of bone& substance& his eventing stock are superb. Other options would be Ars Vivendi and VDL Douglas. All of these are v commercial event sires , youngstock sare selling for big money & they were top Showjumpers themselves.

Good luck!
Eventing foals are generally selling for peanuts.
As DC says, use something commercial and cross your fingers it doesn't accumulate too many vets bills along the way. Wish Upon a Star, Mill Law, Weston Justice, Sir Suave and jumbo sons would be reasonably commercial if sticking with British. Or choose something continental- Grafenstolz maybe

Ricardo Z will give you a good looking foal and he is the leading living sire of eventers and he works best with a good sized TB mare. He stands at Kedrah House Stud in Ireland as does Lux Z who is one of the best sires of show jumpers in the world, but is also a successful eventing sire, and again he will give you a good looking horse with a super walk. Both available AI.
In the UK Carousel stands at Harthill where Ramiro B also stands. Carousel is smaller and more modern in type that Ramiro (even though he carries good old fashioned Holstein blood), and will improve her paces and is a proven sire of 4 star horses, but I guess you might want to ensure height on your mare.
You really are best going for a proven stallion who produces the goods at the highest level as you will know what he will add to the foal, whereas you don't know yet what your mare will contribute.
Both harthill and Kedrah stand a number of good looking eventing sires so can advise you on which of their boys would suit your needs best.

But if you post some pictures of your mare and more details on her strengths and weaknesses I am sure there will be plenty more suggestions
