I've never posted on here before, but I found this gem on Facebook and thought it was a must see and I'm not aware of it already being posted on here.

I hope the link works, and if it does it will take you to the Youtube video. It shows the progress of a horse and rider combination from their first ever Prelim test to their first ever Grand Prix. It is both amusing and highly inspirational.

Please don't be negative about the video as I'm sure it is only intended as entertainment. :)

And that folks is why some people just love training horses for the dressage .
It made me feel a bit tearful lovely video .

Aw that's really lovely to watch, bet she put in many hours of consistent, sympathetic work to get the horse improved as much as that.

Well done Lise Roberts! :D

Aw, lovely! Been there, so many times, with the spooking babies - it's lovely to see how far they've come. And what a fabulous moving young horse too (in all 3 paces): no wonder he went all the way.

Love the power of FB. This one arrived in NZ on Monday and has been shared and shared. Loved watching it and what a lovely combination.

I've just watched it again, and was wondering if someone could explain to me in really simple terms what the horse is doing when it appears to be 'skipping' on the diagonal from F to H (anout 2:08 in the clip)? And how it's done? I've been reading the wiki page on dressage, but I don't understand what they mean. Thank you!

Zalie not watched that far, but sounds like tempi changes? Which is just a series of flying changes (of lead in canter) strung together :)

Lovely video! Does anyone know the breeding of Luron H? Looks so like my mare! But not quite (ok nowhere near) GP level lol

Pah ,call that a bad test ! You havnt done a bad test until the judge gets out the car ,comes into the arena ,and stops the test on "safety reasons". My apologies to the photographer we chased up a pole and our "Pitch invasion" of the next arena.

or you have gone side ways at canter through 3 arenas (with riders doing their test) to end up on the one that is going to be yours at x, as the loud speaker system did a massive feed-back over your head whilst you where waiting to go in.

hangs head in shame

ps to the video wow love the before and after shots

I am so pleased that people have enjoyed this video! I had hoped it would be inspiring, but the response on the various Internet sites has been more than I had hoped for.

Maclinda, Luron is a Danish Warmblood by Lobster, out of Fleur. I bought him from Peder Damgaard in Kent (who I would highly recommend, by the way).

Spaghetti, thank you so much for posting this. x

Such a lovely video! Great rider!
I love my baby horses, but sadly none of mine have that natural movement, so I work double hard just to do a presentable prelim haha

scrumdoody, my mare has Ramiro Z bloodlines so both Ramze and Cottage Son in both her and Luron. I can always tell a connection as they all look identical. Fab video and definitely inspirational. Well. Done x
